Aldi has lodged a new planning application with Wealden District Council for a new food store and care home on land off Eastbourne Road, in Polegate.
The supermarket's previous plans were refused by the council in October last year due to concerns over highway safety, tree loss, ecology and drainage.
It also said insufficient information had been provided to fully assess the potential impacts of the development on protected species.

The care home element, which would be situated adjacent to the store, would provide a three-storey facility with around 75–80 beds.
