Some of Europe’s leading mathematicians and scientists spent a week at The Donkey Sanctuary’s headquarters in Sidmouth, as part of the University of Exeter’s 195th UK European Study Group with Industry (ESGI). The ESGI brings together more than 200 specialists to tackle real-life problems, with this year’s focus covering animal welfare, cyber security, and town planning. The Donkey Sanctuary, a global charity, aims to improve the lives of donkeys and the people who rely on them. They evaluated additional measures of risk and investigated new ways of predicting how welfare risks may change over time and across different regions.
