The operation, carried out at about 10:10 a.m. on 27 July, involved troops deployed at Ungwan Mailelle working alongside Community Guards. According to security sources, the operation followed credible intelligence indicating the presence of suspected terrorist elements in Ungwan Mailelle village. Security sources said the operation forms part of ongoing intelligence-driven efforts under Operation FANSAN YAMMA to identify, disrupt and dismantle terrorist networks operating across Sokoto State and the wider North-West region.
