Hyderabad: Trainee IPS officer Uday Krishna Reddy, accused of sexually assaulting and stalking a fellow probationer after an alleged relationship turned abusive, was remanded to 14 days of judicial custody by a Rajendranagar court on Wednesday.
Multi-state search led to arrestUday Krishna Reddy was produced before the XXV Additional Judicial Magistrate of First Class, Rajendranagar, after being arrested by Hyderabad Police following a multi-state search operation.
The court remanded him to judicial custody till August 11, after which he was shifted to Chanchalguda Central Jail.
Relationship allegedly spiralled into harassmentAccording to Hyderabad Police, Uday Krishna Reddy, a 2025-batch IPS probationer undergoing training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), first met the complainant, a fellow trainee IPS officer, through Instagram in mid-2025.
The defence maintained that Uday Krishna Reddy had cooperated with the investigation and sought bail, arguing that there was insufficient material to justify his arrest.
