A campaigner urged people to “drive properly” through the New Forest after another pony was hit and died on a notorious animal accident blackspot route. The incident involving two-year-old Obershade Blackcap on the B3078 Roger Way, near Bramshaw, before midnight on Monday prompted Gilly Jones, of New Forest Roads Awareness, to speak out. They also lost another grey pony in a road accident, before their foal Buzz died in a hit-and-run in June. Gilly called on those wishing to raise awareness of the issues on Forest roads to contact their MPs, councillors, Hampshire police, Hampshire County Council and Hampshire Highways.
