St Theresa's RC Primary School in Derker and Ss Aidan and Oswald's RC Primary School in Royton, both in Oldham, officially joined the Emmaus Catholic Academy Trust. Emmaus describes itself as a 'large and growing family of Catholic schools,' with plans to expand to 67 schools by 2030. The trust operates across Manchester, Oldham, Stockport, Tameside, and Trafford, and is one of three Catholic academy trusts in the Diocese of Salford. "Emmaus is a Christ and Child Centred Catholic Academy Trust, which means every decision we make starts with the flourishing of the pupil." St Theresa's RC Primary School will now be known as St Theresa's RC Primary School, a Voluntary Academy, and Ss Aidan and Oswald's will now be known as Ss Aidan and Oswald's RC Primary School, a Voluntary Academy.
