Winnipeg police say a 31-year-old man has been charged following a stabbing near Jubillee Avenue and Osborne Street on Tuesday night.
The Winnipeg Police Service says it happened around 9:15 p.m. when a 51-year-old man was “attempting to help a woman who appeared to be suffering from an overdose.”
Authorities allege that’s when the accused, who knew the woman, allegedly stabbed the man in the upper body.
The 51-year-old was taken to hospital in unstable condition, and the woman was hospitalized as well.
Dwayne McDonald was charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon.
