The Carroll County Conference Board met Monday to approve a budget amendment to account for a corresponding amendment to the Carroll County Assessor’s salary. It consists of three voting members, each vote being the collective Carroll County Board of Supervisors, the county’s mayors, and representatives of the county’s school boards. Beardmore also cites transparency and procedural concerns with how the conference board approved the pay increase and public notifications for Monday’s public hearing. The conference board then voted to separate the assessor’s salary from the deputy assessor’s salary, which is based on a percentage of the assessor’s pay.
