It’s not so preposterous with the Mets’ tendency to prefer Luis Torrens behind the plate. A suggestion of Alvarez or Luis Torrens for a young Yankees starting pitcher might break the internet. A challenge for the Mets in any attempt to acquire a starting pitcher for 2027 and beyond is they don’t have too many great trade chips to deal away.
