A man from Guelph was arrested after police say he approached and assaulted a stranger working in the area.
Around 7:25 p.m., officers with the Guelph Police Service were flagged down in the Gordon St and Fountain St area.
Then an unknown man walked up to him and punched him in the face.
However, the man would end up punching and breaking the clipboard, leading to different documents falling onto the road.
Police say the clipboard and some of the documents were stolen from the ground before the man then fled.
