The Pas RCMP are crediting quick action for helping prevent injuries during an early morning house fire. Police say officers responded to a report of a residential fire on Bell Avenue just before 3 a.m. on July 26. When they arrived, they found an attached garage engulfed in flames, with heavy smoke pouring from the building. Officers woke the 56-year-old homeowner, who told them several pets were still inside. RCMP members safely removed all of the animals before firefighters arrived and brought the blaze under control.
