MOORHEAD, MINN. – The deadline for filing for Moorhead’s city council and mayoral races ended at 5 p.m. Tuesday. According to the City of Moorhead’s website, three candidates filed for the mayoral race, along with candidates running in all four wards. Running for mayor are former mayor Del Rae Williams, current city council member Lisa Borgen and challenger Craig Whaley. The winner will replace Shelly Carlson, who will run for the Minnesota LegislatureAll four wards will feature contested races. Ward 1’s Ryan Nelson, Ward 2’s Heather Nesemeier and Ward 3’s Deb White are all running for reelection.
