Cass County Sheriff Jesse Jahner issued a public letter following a recent incident in Horace tied to the nationwide “door kick” social media challenge. Depending on the extent of property damage, individuals involved could face serious criminal mischief charges. “That’s where this becomes very dangerous, because of the times this is being conducted—late at night, early in the morning,” Jahner explained. The Sheriff’s Office encourages parents to talk directly with their teenagers about social media challenges, curfew laws, and the real-world dangers of property destruction. Jahner urges parents to remain vigilant about what their children are viewing and who they are spending time with.
