ISLAMABAD – OGRA announced fresh revision in petroleum prices, offering no relief to petrol consumers while increasing the cost of high-speed diesel (HSD), a move that could add to transportation and logistics expenses.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of Motor Spirit (petrol) has been reduced by Rs0.75 per litre, bringing it down from Rs335.81 to Rs335.06 per litre.
In contrast, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been increased by Rs2.24 per litre, rising from Rs388.38 to Rs390.62 per litre.
However, the increase in diesel prices is expected to have a broader economic impact, as HSD is widely used by heavy transport vehicles, public transport, industrial machinery and the agriculture sector.
The diesel hike could lead to higher freight charges and transportation costs, potentially putting upward pressure on the prices of essential goods in the coming weeks.
