The Zambia Women’s Senior National Team has started its Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) campaign in Morocco on a high note. Zambia defeated Egypt 6–0, with Rachael Nachula opening the scoring from the penalty spot in the 25th minute after Copper Queens captain Barbra Banda was brought down in the 18-yard box by Egyptian defender Ibrahim. Shortly afterwards, Banda headed home her second goal to give the Copper Queens a 3–0 lead. Banda then sealed the emphatic 6–0 victory by scoring her fourth goal of the match three minutes before the final whistle. Zambia now tops Group C with 3 points, which also includes Nigeria, Egypt and Malawi.
