A four-year university education has great value for North Dakota students.
But for those who seek shorter education commitments, hands-on training and — often — immediate job placement in a field desperate for workers, a degree in technical education is increasingly a more traveled path.
That’s a good thing not just for North Dakota students, but also employers and education professionals on both sides of the traditional/tech fence.
Even at UND and other traditional four-year schools, arrangements have been made to build on the trend of technical education.
… It’s long-term sustainability for the state — career and technical education plays a role.”
