ROCHESTER — A Rochester man will appear in Olmsted County Court Wednesday in two March assault cases. Abdulahi Mohamed Abukar, 25, made his first appearance related to a March 22 carjacking at Valleyhigh Flats and a March 23 shooting outside Walmart North. According to court documents, Rochester police responded to Valleyhigh Flats on a report of a motor vehicle theft. The Walmart shooting court documents reiterate that on March 22, Abukar was assaulted by a group of juveniles. “The Walmart shooting incident was suspected to have been further retaliation for the beating,” court documents allege.
