ROCHESTER — A former Mayo Clinic doctor’s appeal to erase his first–degree murder charge was denied Tuesday. Connor Bowman, 32, is facing a first-degree murder charge after he was accused of poisoning his wife, Betty Bowman, who died in August 2023. ADVERTISEMENTOn June 30, Bowman's attorneys filed a petition for discretionary review asking the Minnesota appeals court to overturn Judge Kathy Wallace's earlier ruling, which upheld the indictment despite misconduct. According to appellate Judge Michelle A. Larkin, Bowman’s attorneys failed to demonstrate “extraordinary circumstances” that would call for the district court’s ruling to be overturned. “We are not persuaded that this is an unsettled issue that merits discretionary review,” Larkin wrote.
