The Steamboat Springs School District has named local educator Darcy N. Walters as the new assistant principal of Soda Creek Elementary School, according to a recent statement . Walters has also served as director of teaching and learning, director of special education and lower elementary lead teacher at Steamboat Montessori School, and has worked as a special education coordinator for Northwest BOCES. Prior to coming to Steamboat Springs, she taught special education at several public schools in Denver and taught at the Bilkent Laboratory & International School in Ankara, Turkey. “We are thrilled to welcome Darcy into this leadership position at Soda Creek Elementary,” said Soda Creek Elementary Principal Amy Bohmer in the statement. “I am honored to step into this role at Soda Creek Elementary,” said Walters in the statement.
