Essex could see up to nine days of rainfall between August 3 and August 11, according to BBC Weather.
The rain will not be continuous, with forecasters predicting on‑and‑off showers which could turn heavy at times.
The rain will break a prolonged period of dry weather across the region.
Southend is predicted to have some rain continuously throughout the nine days, with the highest chance coming on Monday, August 3 with a 55 per cent chance of rain in the evening.
Temperatures in Essex are climbing to 34C in some areas this week, with weather experts warning of significant impacts due to the "very hot, locally exceptionally hot" conditions.
