Hawaiian Volcano Observatory reported at about 3 a.m. July 29 in a volcanic activity notice that Episode 52 lava fountaining of the ongoing Kīlauea volcano episodic summit eruption ended just after 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Only a glow emits from the volcanic vents inside Halemaʻumaʻu Crater just after 4 a.m. July 29, 2026, following the end of Episode 52 lava fountaining of the ongoing summit eruption of Kīlauea volcano on the Big Island.
Kīlauea’s volcano alert level was lowered to advisory and its aviation code to yellow following the end of the most recent fountaining episode.
