Giant solar farm to be built in County Durham countryside after refusal overturned
['Bill Edgar']
The Northern Echo | News
The solar scheme by Ampyr Solar Europe will cover almost 58 hectares of land south of Wagtail Lane, Craghead.
The proposals attracted strong opposition from residents, including Ian Cutter and Danielle Quigley Cutter, who run Holmside Hall Equestrian.
He said: "Holmside Hall equals regeneration, not industrialisation.
We are an equestrian business that serves the community and the North East and there are more than 120 horses stabled on Holmside Hall Road alone.
The appeal also considered concerns about the combined effect of the development and the recently approved Burnhope Solar Farm.
