Adam Richardson had previously been sentenced for driving a defective car at high speed in wet conditions before crashing into a tree. He caused serious injuries to his three passengers, one who has since died as a result of their injuries. The 38-year-old was due to be sentenced at Teesside Crown Court this week but the hearing has been moved to Durham Crown Court next month. Richardson, of HMP Ranby but formerly of Wheatley Hill, County Durham, pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving from April 3, 2019, at an earlier hearing. Judge Francis Laird KC, the Recorder of Middlesbrough, remanded Richardson in custody until his is sentenced on August 14.
