Driver fled 3-vehicle crash before DUI arrestA 25-year-old man is accused of causing a three-vehicle crash, fleeing the scene and later telling someone over the phone, “I was involved in an accident,” before police arrested him on suspicion of DUI. Officers responded to a three-vehicle collision at John Wayne Parkway and Lakeview Drive around 9:47 p.m. July 16, according to a probable cause statement. The remaining drivers told officers the third vehicle ran a red light, caused the crash and drove away without stopping to exchange information or render aid. While officers investigated, they allegedly overheard Muñoz telling someone in Spanish over the phone, “I was involved in an accident.” He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving and driving on a suspended license.
