The Oscar-winning Irish singer-songwriter, whose deeply personal music and unforgettable performance in Once captivated audiences around the world, died Wednesday following a motorcycle crash in his hometown of Dublin. Long before the world knew his name, Hansard was busking on the streets of Dublin, earning every listener one song at a time.
