With an already established annual Rumbo festival in Oaxaca, Mexico, the North Isles event is hoped to be the first of many in Shetland. North Isles favourite Kris Drever will return to Mareel as part of the Rumbo lineup - this time with a full band. “We'd love to see more musicians from Shetland and the North Isles travel with Routes to Roots in the future. “We hope Shetland audiences leave with not only a memorable, high-quality musical experience, but also the opportunity to discover artists they might not otherwise have the chance to hear.
