Dry eye affects one in three adults in the UK and occurs when the eyes do not produce enough tears or when tears evaporate too quickly.
Leanda Beynon, a dispensing optician and dry eye expert at Haine & Smith, said: "Many people assume dry eye is just something they have to put up with, but that simply isn't the case.
"Following the 20-20-20 rule—looking 20 feet into the distance for 20 seconds every 20 minutes—can also help reduce eye strain and encourage more natural blinking."
Haine & Smith Opticians offers comprehensive dry eye assessments to identify the root cause of symptoms and recommend tailored treatment plans.
Ms Beynon stressed the importance of personalised care:"No two cases of dry eye are exactly the same, which is why it's so important to understand what's causing the problem rather than simply treating the symptoms.
