In Part One, I mentioned the data center discussion at the July 21 meeting of the Pagosa Springs Town Council. The Town Land Use and Development Code (LUDC) does not specifically define ‘data centers’ … therefore, it also does not define in which zoning districts a proposed data center might be allowed. Or if data centers might be totally banned, in every zoning district. Medina stated that for most counties that have data centers, they draw the majority of power in the community. To my knowledge, the state of Colorado does not currently have any laws prohibiting, or encouraging, data centers per se.
