Kentucky AI salaries lag national leaders
['Kevin O. Stinnett']
Lane Report | Kentucky Business & Economic News
According to research by Revid AI, Kentucky ranks 42nd among the 50 states for average advertised salaries in artificial intelligence-related jobs.
By comparison, Washington leads the nation with an average AI salary of $161,654, followed closely by California at $159,001.
The gap between the nation’s highest-paying AI market and Kentucky exceeds $65,000 annually, underscoring the growing competition among states to attract highly skilled technology professionals.
While Kentucky’s AI salaries rank near the bottom nationally, the report suggests opportunities remain for employers looking to build AI capabilities at a lower labor cost than traditional technology hubs.
Researchers limited each employer to five listings to prevent large employers from disproportionately influencing state averages, resulting in a final analysis of 8,019 salary listings.
