SIKESTON — Drainage concerns, public safety investments, and infrastructure improvements dominated Monday night’s Sikeston City Council meeting, as city officials approved a series of purchases while also hearing concerns from residents about flooding and police procedures. The council then approved a conditional use variance allowing Tyianna Davis to operate an in-home daycare at 815 Apache Drive. Several agenda items focused on upgrading city equipment and public safety technology. Council members also approved the purchase of a new Cisco VoiceGateway appliance for $34,513.45, approximately $2,800 less than the original estimate. The city will also replace its 10-year-old server storage unit after the council approved purchasing a new system for $86,039.
