The first word is “where” and reminds us of the place where Jesus Christ was crucified. The apostle John calls the place where Jesus was crucified “the place of a skull” (John 19:17), which in the Hebrew language is called “Golgotha”. Luke in his gospel calls this place “Calvary” and says, “there they crucified him …”. (John 19:19) Jesus was crucified outside the city of Jerusalem.
