The Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) has confirmed the killing of one of its senior officers, Colonel Abdussalam Ude, following an attack on his residence at the Phase 5 Army Housing Estate in Kurudu, Abuja. His wife, driver and security guard were also injured in the attack and taken to hospital for treatment. The DIA added that it was working with relevant security authorities to establish the circumstances surrounding the killing. Before his death, Ude served in several strategic military intelligence and counter-terrorism roles. His burial was scheduled to take place on Tuesday at the Mambilla Mosque in Abuja in accordance with Islamic rites.
