The example of the Social Services Department seeking donations to provide children’s back-to-school shoes is not evidence of moral failure. Our town consistently ranks among the nation’s most desirable communities because it has balanced excellent public services with responsible fiscal management and an engaged citizenry. Greenwich residents should reject the notion that political affiliation determines moral character.
