ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (WCAX) – Police are investigating a break-in at Cherry Street Playcare in St Johnsbury. According to St. Johnsbury police, day-care staff arrived early Wednesday morning to find a broken lock and a missing laptop. The staff reported that food meant for young children was also taken. Police found the laptop with a person experiencing homelessness next to the welcome center in St. Johnsbury and returned it to the day care. Police have not released any other details about possible charges or additional suspects.
