The Great Lakes Museum has received $15,000 to help expand access to educational and community programming for students, youth and seniors over the coming year. The money is expected to support roughly 300 students through the museum’s hands-on STEAM and Great Lakes history programs. It will also help schools in economically challenged areas of Kingston access programming at little or no cost, according to the museum. Funding will also assist with senior-focused initiatives, including the Nautical Nights Lecture Series and the Lifelong Learning Club. “The Great Lakes Museum is committed to making history accessible to everyone,” executive director Bep Schippers said in a statement.
