Held on 25 July at the River Chalets, the tournament gathered 37 established competitors, promising juniors and local enthusiasts. Revian Willemse produced the tournament’s most commanding display in the Open Section, finishing first with a flawless 7/7 score. In the Women’s Section, Naletti Nkokwena claimed the gold medal, with Penny Shilongo taking silver and Amoricha Boois earning bronze. The Cadet Section was equally competitive, with Damion Aribeb taking first place, followed by Victory Wilhelm and Andy Boois. The Namibia Chess Federation expressed its appreciation to Bank Windhoek for its continued sponsorship of the Grand Prix series and its commitment to advancing chess development in Namibia.
