The Héma-Québec 900 km challenge
['Matthew Mccully']
Sherbrooke Record
These are just some of the reasons shared by eight young adults in their twenties, led by Sherbrooke resident Anick Nadeau-Fréchette.
To run 900 kilometres and inspire 900 plasma donations for Héma-Québec.
When she contacted Héma-Québec to share her idea, no one was quite sure where to begin.
On the morning of the run, Héma-Québec had a surprise for Anick: the starting whistle was blown by 11-year-old Florence Zimmermann.
In the end, the young runners inspired 1,092 plasma donations—a remarkable and unexpected achievement that contributes to Héma-Québec’s efforts to achieve plasma self-sufficiency for Quebecers!
