Record Staff (HB)Memphremagog Community Theatre (MCT) will make its performance debut with A Night of Shakespeare in Two Acts, Aug. 14, 15 and 16 at the Haskell Opera House. The evening opens with Much Ado About Will, a celebration of the words of William Shakespeare, conceived and compiled by Robert Johanson. MCT’s production features some of Shakespeare’s more famous comic scenes and characters, including the mechanicals from A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Malvolio from Twelfth Night. The second act will present Romeo and Juliet: Six Very Busy Days by playwright Robert Wing, of Island Pond, Vermont. Memphremagog Community Theatre is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating and supporting local theatre in the Northeast Kingdom and Eastern Townships.
