(IN BRIEF) voestalpine has officially opened a new production facility at its Jeffersonville, Indiana site, doubling the location’s production capacity for high-quality longitudinal beams used in class 6, 7 and 8 trucks.
Once fully operational, the site’s production capacity will reach 80,000 tons, and the expansion will create 110 new jobs.
The international steel and technology group has invested approximately EUR 70 million, equivalent to around USD 80 million, in the expansion.
With the added capacity, voestalpine will fulfil long-term supply contracts with major North American truck manufacturers.
voestalpine is committed to the global climate goals and has a clear plan for transforming steel production with its greentec steel program.
