Wick Airport will open a new direct route to Glasgow just months after the town’s connection with Aberdeen was restored. The funding will also help to keep crucial flights between Wick and Aberdeen going after they resumed in January this year. SNP transport chief Stephen Flynn, also MSP for Aberdeen Deeside and North Kincardine, said he was “pleased” to announce the cash boost for Wick. “The improved reliability of the Wick to Aberdeen service since Air Charter Scotland took over the route in January is a great starting point to build from.” Wick Airport is a major Scottish destination for private jets.
