For the first time this season, the St Louis Cardinals fell below .500 following a 10-2 drubbing by the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday, July 28 at Busch Stadium. Alex Bregman again led the Cubs offense with a 3-for-5 outing, denting the plate twice, while Swiya Suzuki also went 3-for-5. The Cubs went 8-for-17 with runners in scoring position while stealing a pair of bases. The Cardinals got on the board in the bottom of the fourth when Nathan Church’s sacrifice fly allowed Alec Burleson to score. Dustin May will look to curb the Cubs on Wednesday evening when he gets the start for St Louis, against Matthew Boyd.
