Morocco’s agri-food exports continued their upward trajectory in 2025, reaching 86.2 billion dirhams, up from roughly 62 billion dirhams in 2020, a 38 percent increase over five years, according to a statement issued after the board meeting of Morocco Foodex, the body overseeing export control and coordination, chaired by Agriculture Minister Ahmed El Bouari. The performance cements the sector’s position as the kingdom’s third-largest source of foreign currency, with agri-food products now accounting for nearly 18 percent of national exports. In volume terms, agri-food exports reached 4.7 million tonnes in 2025, up 9 percent from 2020 and 49 percent from 2015, underscoring what the ministry described as a positive long-term trajectory for Moroccan exporting industries. He called for continued efforts to raise export volumes and diversify markets. Morocco Foodex’s director general, Ghita El Ghorfi, presented the institution’s technical and financial results for 2025 along with budget execution for the first half of 2026.
