Maxam Tire has extended its MS501 MineXtra off-the-road (OTR) portfolio with the launch of a new 50/65R51 size, designed specifically to meet the demands of large wheel loaders in severe mining applications. The addition extends the manufacturer’s MS501 family to cater to operations requiring enhanced durability in high-impact L5 severe-service environments, including surface mining and hard rock quarries. Engineered for arduous operating conditions, the MS501 features an extra-deep open L5 tread design with staggered tread blocks intended to deliver long wear life, high traction, and damage resistance. Commenting on the expansion, Matt Fagan, director of R&D at Maxam Tire North America, said: “The addition of the 50/65R51 further strengthens the MS501 product line and our dedication to supporting customers across an even broader range of mining and quarry applications. As equipment continues to grow in size and productivity demands increase, we’re focused on delivering tyre solutions that help operators maximise uptime, reduce operating costs, and get the most from their equipment.”
