A plan to construct a Christian church in one of Indonesia’s provinces has met with protest more than once.
Morning Star News reported that on June 11, Muslims pushed back for the second time against the proposed construction of Java Christian Church in Banyuanyar village in Indonesia’s Central Java province.
Morning Star quoted one protest leader who declared the church proposal to be “an evil plan, a plan for proselytizing, a missionary agenda.
There is a plan to convert the Muslims living around this place.”
Referencing information from Open Doors, Morning Star stated, “Indonesian society in recent years has adopted a more conservative Islamic character, and churches involved in evangelistic outreach are at risk of being targeted by Islamic extremist groups.”
