Overall, the Loire’s exports grew 4.9% to $225 million in 2025 on volume up 4.3%, matching their highest level in 25 years, according to the InterLoire trade group. The U.S., with an 18% share of export value, is the Loire’s second-largest market after Germany, which accounts for 19%. InterLoire noted that producers responded to 25% U.S. tariffs on French wines last year by reducing pricing by 5.8% across the appellation. That has helped extend the momentum of Cremant as well as whites from Anjou, Saumur, Savennières, Touraine, and Vouvray, the group said. According to BusinessFrance, Loire wine shipments to the U.S. increased 16% by volume and 13% by value through the first five months of 2026.—Daniel MarstellerTagged : BusinessFrance, InterLoire
