Dhaka University Syndicate has decided to review all appointments of teachers, officers and employees made between January 1, 2009, and June 30, 2024, and initiate action against teachers accused of taking positions against students during the July uprising. The decisions were taken at a syndicate meeting on Tuesday, chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof ABM Obaidul Islam. The syndicate formed a probe committee, headed by Pro-VC (Academic) Prof Abdus Salam, to review the appointments. The syndicate also formed a four-member committee, comprising the VC, to examine allegations against teachers who allegedly acted against students during the uprising. It will review a list of 125 teachers submitted by the Anti-Fascist Teachers platform and recommend action.
