A Birthday Note to my GrandkidsHaving arrived at the milestone of “four score years and ten,” I increasingly find myself trying to appraise just what I have achieved in that time? At my age it’s a future I will only see a very small part of, but in which my grandkids will have to work, adapt and ideally prosper. Suddenly, schoolwork and study were over and it was home to work with Dad as I had always wanted. That is why I am despondent about the future for my productive country and my wonderful family. You, my grandchildren, will do your best, be your best, and leave our country in better shape than I will leave.
