The procession commenced from the historic Dashnami Akhada at Maisuma in Srinagar and was led by the custodian of the Chhari Mubarak, Mahant Deependra Giri. ADVERTISEMENTAt the temple, the traditional Bhoomi Pujan, Navgrah Pujan and Dhwajarohan ceremonies were performed, formally marking the beginning of the Chhari Mubarak pilgrimage in keeping with centuries-old traditions. ADVERTISEMENTThe Chhari Mubarak will subsequently follow the traditional Amarnath Yatra route through Chandanwari, Sheshnag and Panchtarni before reaching the holy cave shrine on Shravan Purnima, coinciding with Raksha Bandhan, when the annual pilgrimage will ceremonially conclude. Meanwhile, the annual Amarnath Yatra continued to witness a steady flow of pilgrims, with 4,41,577 devotees having paid obeisance at the holy cave shrine since the pilgrimage commenced on July 3.
