Over €600 million has been spent on IPAS centres for asylum seekers in 2026 so far, a new report says. The Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration publish purchase orders for IPAS centres that total over €20,000 quarterly, with the latest figures for Q2 of 2026 being released on Monday (July 27). Nearly €322 million was spent in Q1 of 2026 (January 1 to March 31), while in Q2 (April 1 to June 30), that spending increased slightly to €337 million — increasing to over €659 million spent on IPAS centres so far. Over €7.1 billion has been spent on IPAS since 2021, peaking in 2024 when the government spent nearly €1.9billion. Over €600 million has been spent on IPAS centres for asylum seekers in 2026 so far.
