The Mississippi Department of Transportation has been actively engaged in several construction projects throughout southern Mississippi, including Pearl River County. The first project involves a $21.9 million bridge replacement over Hobolochitto Creek. Pearl River County is included in this project, which affects several other counties such as Lincoln, Pike, Forrest, Lamar, Jones, Adams, and Walthall. Email newsletter signupAdditionally, along I-59, a $8.3 million project is focused on the installation of cable barriers and pier protection on the overpass from County Road 334 to County Road 34, as well as from Hillsdale Grumpond Road to West Union, all located in Pearl River County. Lastly, a $3.5 million project to overlay State Route 43 from Wheats Curve to State Route 26 has been successfully completed.
